After six juicy seasons, and the biggest rivalry in reality TV – which included a swap in the show’s leading ladies – The Hills says a tearful final bow. I got a chance to chat with vivacious vixen Kristin Cavallari while she hung out in Toronto hot-spot The Fifth as she dished on drug allegations against her, if she’ll miss the cast, and what’s next for her after the big finale.

TVGuide: Thank you for making The Hills’ last few seasons the juiciest of them all. How did you enjoy taking over the show?
Kristin Cavallari: I’ve had so much fun. I was really nervous coming in because no one knew that I was coming, but once I started filming and figured out my place on the show, I’ve been having the best time. We have all started just enjoying filming and being together. Now we are all getting along and no one wants it to end.

TVG: Were you were accepted with open arms?
KC: Well, not at first, which is fine. It was great for the show. Now everyone is getting along, which is all the matters.

TVG: Which did you enjoy filming more, The Hills or Laguna Beach?
KC: I would say The Hills. Laguna Beach was my life and MTV came in and shook it up which was hard, especially when I was dating Stephen and they kept having Stephen go and hang out with Lauren; that drove me crazy. With The Hills, I went into it as my job and I didn’t mix my emotions. It was more, “This is work and I’m going to do my thing and I have my separate life with my friends who aren’t on the show.” That way I can do whatever they wanted me to do and play everything up and have fun with it rather than get upset about things.

TVG: During this last season a lot of accusations were thrown around, such as the drug problem rumour. Since it is a “reality” show, how much of that truly affected your real life?
KC: God, that was really difficult for me. I understand that we need drama for the show and I am 100 per cent game for that. That started to affect my personal life and that’s when it’s not OK. That’s not something to be taken lightly and MTV didn’t have my back through any of it. That was really hard. There wasn’t even an article about me going out too much and then all of a sudden I need to go to rehab and it’s on the show. Now it’s gone away because there is no story. Funny how there is only a story surrounding the first episode of the show. You’re welcome, MTV.

TVG: So now it's on to the real hard-hitting questions. What's tougher? Having to listen to Spencer and Heidi talk about mood crystals or keeping track of Justin Bobby and Audrina's relationship?
KC: [Laughs.] Probably the crystals.

TVG: What were your thoughts about that whole Spencer-Heidi drama?
KC: I thought it was funny. Before, I always thought that Heidi and Spencer were comedic relief on the show. Now it’s taken more of a dark turn but nothing really shocks me coming from them, so I thought it was funny.

TVG: What was better: having Justin Bobby make you dinner in your beach house or serving coffee to Brody while he wore a crop top?
KC: [Laughs.] Serving coffee to Brody in a crop top. How funny was that? We were dying when we were filming that.

TVG: How is the relationship between you and Brody now?
KC: It’s great. I think Brody and I will always be in each other’s lives and we’ll always be great friends, but [sighs] I don’t want to ruin the last episode for ya.

TVG: Will you still keep in touch with the cast of the show?
KC: We have another three weeks of filming and it’s starting to get really sad because you become such a family. I’ll keep in touch with most of them.

TVG: What’s next for Kristin Cavallari post The Hills?
KC: I have three reality shows that I’m producing right now and I’m excited to audition again and study with an acting coach and keep acting.

TVG: Will we be seeing you on any of the shows that you are producing?
KC: Maybe on one or two, but probably just a guest appearance or something.

TVG: Perhaps if the rumours of spin-off shows with either Audrina or Heidi pan out we can expect a few surprise cameos?
KC: No. I didn’t even know that was going on.

TVG: Something about Heidi and Jenn Bunny?
KC: Oh yeah, that’s not with MTV though.

TVG: Finally, any regrets returning to reality TV or joining the show?
KC: Not at all.
