Miggy, were you surprised to be voted out?
Miggy Cancel: No I wasn’t. My major concern was once we got put into teams, that would give them the chance to get rid of me. It happened, and I wasn’t surprised.

Were you disappointed with your weight loss?
MC: I was little disappointed because I had worked very hard that week. I didn’t leave because of weight loss, I left because of the group’s decision. But it happens.

How have you been able to keep up your weight loss at home?
MC: I have an awesome trainer and he has incorporated meditation into my routine and a variety of workouts and he checks in on me every day. I have not stopped the diet; I have been eating everything that I did at the ranch.

What are you doing at home with regard to food changes?
MC: I’m trying to incorporate regular foods into my diet, but change them in a healthier way. I don’t want to get too far away from my regular life, but I want to enjoy healthier choices. I go lean or whole-grain if I can. When it comes to working out, I run to work every day instead of driving. That way I get eight miles done right off the bat.

What’s it like going shopping for clothes now?
MC: It’s so fun! I’m still at the stage where I go over to the extra-large clothes and then stop myself because those are too big for me. And then I go for a large, and I say, “Wait, I’m not a large anymore!” And then I end up in a medium. That’s where I see the huge change in my life. As the sizes go down, I see the changes have paid off.

How much weight have you lost, to date?
MC: I’ve lost over 70 pounds.

Miggy, how has being on the ranch changed your work as a chef?
MC: It’s changed quite a bit. I’ve had to go back and make these things that I always have. That hasn’t changed. But I have been approached by people who are wondering if I will do catering and wedding menus that feature healthier, low-calorie foods. They ask for plates that are healthier, more like Biggest Loser food. I’ve been told by my boss to redo the menus and break them down and offer healthier choices. There are a lot of people crying out for healthier foods and they try to get help any way they can.
