WEEKEND SUDS FLASH
NBC Daytime revives itself with a new strategy and programming!
• According to Broadcasting & Cable, NBC is considering pairing DAYS with Bravo’s successful Real Housewives franchises to help attract younger viewers to its anorexic daytime lineup. But that’s not all. The article reports Sony’s The Nate Berkus Show, an Oprah spinoff, NBC Universal’s The Real Housewives — which has been a big hit for Bravo — and Access Hollywood Live, which aims to bring viewers all the day’s news from Hollywood in a fresh format, will help revive NBC’s anemic and limp daytime lineup. Smart move, NBC.
• Nadia Bjorlin will be hosting ACME Saturday Night on Aug. 14. The show starts at 7 p.m. PT. Tickets are $10 online and $15 at the door. ACME Comedy Theatre is located at 135 N. La Brea Ave in Hollywood, Calif.
• Is DAYS pursuing Matt Ashford now that Missy Reeves is returning to Salem full time? As of press time, Ashford tells On Air, On Soaps’ Michael Fairman that DAYS has not approached the actor, but would more than likely agree to a comeback.
