There’s nothing quite like watching Joan Rivers perform for a gaffing group of journalists, but if nothing else could be said it’s that the host is in all her glory.

She’s getting ready to headline TV Land’s latest project, How’d You Get so Rich, alongside producer Mark Burnett, who was supposed to be at the tour but was noticeably absent next to the comedienne.

Rivers quickly dismissed journos’ questions on the missing producer, instead deciding to slam a fellow actress.

“We’ve got this new show, How’d You Get Fatter Than a Fifth of an Acre with Kirstie Alley,” she jibed. “And its spinoff, How’d You Get So ****ing Poor, and that will be hosted by the Madoffs.”

In all seriousness, How’d You Get so Rich, the reality series hosted by Rivers, travels to the homes of ordinary folk like you or I, who started with nothing and became rich off a simple idea, like creating a blanket with sleeves.

“You have an idea and you believe in the idea and they all work like dogs,” Rivers enthused. “One guy was so rich his dog had a psychiatrist. I mean, what does a dog have to be depressed about? You lay around all day and get to lick your balls.”

The project has been in development with TV Land for over a year now; when Rivers signed on to another of Burnett’s series, The Celebrity Apprentice, she had no idea Burnett would eventually work on her potential series too. “If I had I wouldn’t have worked my butt off on The Apprentice,” she says.

How’d You Get So Rich will air on TV Land later this fall.
