Gordon Ramsay is taking cooking shows to the next level with his latest project, CookAlong Live, a one-hour special airing this December. In it, Ramsay instructs you, the viewer, on how to make a three-course meal in only an hour, from your very own home.

The special comes after a successful version in the U.K., which featured a Thai green curry starter, a lasagna main and baked Alaska, and cost approximately four pounds per person.

“I want to remove the intimidation,” Ramsay says. “Staying in is the new going out. It worked brilliantly well across the U.K., thousands of guests cooking live in their houses.”

In order to participate, a website will go live “hopefully a month” before the event, where viewers can gather tips on the preparation and put together the required shopping list.

For those viewers who might be too afraid to learn from the potty-mouthed chef, he promises to keep his temper in check, and admits he isn’t like that at home. “In an un-pressurized environment, I don’t act or perform like that when things go like that at home,” he says. “I get a little impatient sometimes when I watch Tana chop a shallot, because I’m hungry, I want to get dinner going.”

And he admits that not everyone will necessarily be able to keep up with him, as he proved by putting critics to the test and making us whisk up our very own meringue, out-whisking us in mere minutes.

“The initial six or seven minutes are always the most difficult but then you settle in,” he promises. “I’m not expecting people to keep up with me. I can guarantee you won’t be two or three minutes behind me.”

Gordon Ramsay: CookAlong Live airs Tuesday, Dec. 15, 9 p.m. ET, Fox.
