If Jillian Harris, also known as ABC’s most recent Bachelorette, thought her 15 minutes of TV fame was up, she’d better think again.
The Canadian Press reports that since she and finalist Ed Swiderski announced their engagement on The Bachelorette’s July 27 finale, rumours of infidelity have begun to swirl.
According to Us Weekly magazine, Swiderski’s ex-girlfriend says she and Ed met up just eight days after he proposed to Harris and that he romanced another woman a day later as well.
She also alleges that Swiderski dated her once again when he temporarily left the reality show due to work obligations.
Naturally, the 29-year-old technology consultant denied the claims when he and Harris recently visited the daytime talk show Good Morning America, and his new fiancée seems to believe him: “Ed is not deceiving me; Ed is not pulling the wool over my eyes.”
Here’s hoping – the couple have now been tapped to star on another ABC reality series, Wipeout, reports BuddyTV.com.
After all the relationship drama – and the aforementioned rumours – Canada’s sweetheart says this is just what she and Ed need: “We really want to go on [Wipeout] because we feel like we’ve just been through the wringer the last few weeks, so that would be a great way to lighten things up.”
Harris has also been offered to do a TV design show, and while she says that used to be her dream job, she wouldn’t be willing to let her new relationship suffer for it. “Ed and I had a big conversation about this last week,” she says. “He certainly does not want to stay in the limelight.”
Although a wedding date has yet to be announced, the pair plan to marry within the next year.
