Three’s Company star Joyce DeWitt has been charged with driving under the influence, reports The Insider.

The actress was charged with one count of driving under the influence as well as driving with a blood alcohol level over .08 per cent.

DeWitt was arrested on July 4 in El Segundo, Calif., after officers say they witnessed her drive past a traffic barricade. Police observed signs that she had been drinking and, as a result, administered a field sobriety test.

She was then booked at the station, cited and released on her own recognizance.

DeWitt, most famous for her role as Janet Wood on Three’s Company, disappeared from the public eye when the hit comedy ended its run in 1984.

Years later, she revealed that she quit show business because of the disrespectful treatment she received from the producers of Three’s Company, and in 2003, went on to co-produce Behind the Camera: The Unauthorized Story of Three’s Company.

A complaint filed earlier this week by the Los Angeles County District Attorney showed that she had been driving with a blood alcohol level of .15, double the state’s legal limit.
