It’s been a dismal week for One Life to Live. First, beloved actors Scott Evans and Brett Claywell got the boot. Now, former One Life star Nathaniel Marston has been found guilty of resisting arrest.
The actor who played Dr. Michael McBain on One Life — and Eddie Silva on As the World Turns before that — pleaded guilty to misdemeanour resisting arrest.
It’s been an odd two years but hopefully Marston, a former amateur boxer, can put it behind him.
In October 2007, Marston was accused of attacking three taxi drivers with a metal crate at a New York City gas station, which, the actor alleged, started when one of the cabbies accidentally drove into him.
Marston now admits he hit a police officer who tried to break up the melee. But initial police accounts say he attacked a small crowd of cab drivers and officers in a cocaine-fuelled frenzy.
The fight and arrest ultimately led to his firing from the soap, and made it tough to get new work, he told The New York Post. “I couldn’t get a job as a dishwasher.”
However, the actor was never charged with anything drug-related.
Marston has completed an anger-management program, and his case is expected to be closed without jail time or probation.
