This news just made my morning. Jim Parsons, who plays eccentric scientist Sheldon Cooper on The Big Bang Theory, will be guest-starring on Sesame Street.
“I’m shooting a little word-of-the-day segment on Sesame Street, so I’m taking my four-year-old nephew,” he told Canoe.ca.
“The scene I’m doing (on Sesame Street), they’re creating a character just for that scene. But I said, ‘Can I bring my four-year-old nephew?’ and they said, ‘Sure, and we’ll bring Elmo and Abby Cadabby to meet him.’
Aw, ain’t that sweet?
Though the 36-year-old actor believes it’ll be a treat for his nephew, he thinks the little tyke could very well spaz out, too.
“He may have a conniption fit, though. It’s one of those moments where I think, ‘He’s going to love it, but he may lapse back or something.’ It’s weird.”
Parsons is joining a prestigious list of Sesame Street guest stars – U.S. first lady Michelle Obama stopped by for its 40th season première in November, and celebs including Natalie Portman, Jon Stewart and Neil Patrick Harris have made appearances in recent years.
The Big Bang Theory, now in its third season, regularly places among Canada’s Top 10 shows. It airs Mondays, 9:30 p.m. ET/PT, A/CBS.
