Jake Pavelka is first and foremost a pilot, but ever since his appearance on ABC’s The Bachelorette (where he fought for the love of Canadian sweetheart Jillian Harris), the 32-year-old has had a fascination with the limelight.
Not only did he go on to headline a season of the reality franchise’s The Bachelor (choosing Vienna Girardi as his fiancée), but he also appeared in the 10th instalment of Dancing With the Stars (he and pro partner Chelsie Hightower were the fifth couple to be eliminated). After that, he was scheduled to guest on an episode of Drop Dead Diva — appropriately, as a contestant on a fictional reality dating show.
But now, with no new “jobs” on the horizon and a very public split from Girardi, there comes word that Pavelka is hoping for another shot at TV love. At least, according to Us Weekly, whose most recent magazine edition boasts the headline, “Jake Pavelka Begs to Be New Bachelor.”
Surprise, surprise. Of course the Dallas native would hop on-board this train, should ABC decide to give him the chance — what guy wouldn’t want 25 girls fighting for his affections? It’s his own fault, though, that he chose poorly with Girardi (a.k.a. the most hated girl in the house), instead of wholesome, fan-favourite Tenley Molzahn (who’s currently getting cozy with Kiptyn Locke on Bachelor Pad), and it’s highly unlikely the Letter network would offer him this opportunity again — they’ve never featured the same Bachelor twice in the show’s history.
Another season of The Bachelor will debut in January and if tradition continues, the chosen man will be a popular castoff from the last version of The Bachelorette, which featured Ali Fedotowsky.
Currently, Bachelor Pad is airing Mondays at 8 p.m. ET on Citytv/ABC.
