One of the most exciting aspects of life is the constant exposure to new things. Around every corner could be the opportunity to learn something different, try something unusual and gain personal wealth in knowledge. That’s the beauty of life.

Whether it’s eating duck heads in Thailand or jumping out of an airplane at 14,000 feet in the air, I live for the rush of experiencing anything my heart desires, no matter how crazy it sounds (or, for that matter, terrifies my parents).

Yet sometimes you may not realize that the simplest things can shape you. I sat down and listed all the things I have learned thanks to our friend, the television. Whether it was what to avoid on a first date (thanks, The Bachelor) or how many different ways there are to cook wild boar (Iron Chef America), I’ve amassed a wealth of knowledge over the years

Here’s my list of shows that helped me try new things, expand my horizons and become a well-rounded individual.

Janine has been a devoted critic of cheesy TV ever since her inaugural Paradise Hotel episode. Five years, long hours and a considerable lack of beauty sleep later, her passion has earned her a Rolodex of useless knowledge.

Tackling shows other professionals cringe over such as Flavor of Love, The Real World and Celebrity Fit Club, Guilty Pleasures’ subtle complexity deserves more than just a snap judgment. Janine’s unique talent to celebrate a worthy “trash-show” is a launch pad for fans of cheesy TV everywhere.
