Growing up in the ‘70s, ‘80s and ‘90s, I was privy to some of the greatest sitcoms of all time. Sanford & Son, The Jeffersons, All in the Family, Newhart, Cheers, Night Court, Family Ties … all were at my disposal.
It used to be the only way to check out these comic classics was to buy them on DVD, which could be a costly affair. No longer, thanks to channels like TVtroplis, and Comedy Gold, which launched this week across Canada.
Comedy Gold’s nod to the laughs of yesteryear celebrates such sitcoms as The Mary Tyler Moore Show, Designing Women, The Bob Newhart Show, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Night Court, Full House, SCTV, The Red Green Show, The Kids in the Hall and Bizarre, just to name a few.
