We’ve all been there. You’re just getting into a series or devoutly following for years and in the blink of an eye, the network gods are cancelling one of your favourite shows. Depending on your involvement, a series cancellation can be the end of an era, but there is always hope for second chances.

The series finale of TLC’s reality series American Chopper, which followed the father-and-son duo of Orange County Choppers, aired in February. But as quickly as the finale came and went, the series had been renewed when TLC revived the program under a new title.

American Chopper: Senior vs. Junior is all of the same motorcycle customization and familial squabbles we’re used to seeing, and the family feud that initially put an end to the show has now given it new life as the two Pauls put their rivalry to good use.

It’s not the first time viewers have seen expired series come back from the dead. How well do you know TV’s revived, revamped and revitalized series from recent years? Test your second-life know-how with this series revival quiz.

American Chopper: Senior vs. Junior premieres Thursday, Aug. 12, 9 p.m. ET on TLC.
