If you’re thinking about becoming a parent, you may want to avoid ABC’s Supernanny – most of the kids featured each week could be the poster children for birth control, what with all their screaming, crying, hitting, cursing, uncontrollable antics.

But, thanks to wondrous British nanny Jo Frost and her two decades of experience, there is hope out there for problem kids, and in many cases, their problem parents. Over the past few years, Frost has helped repair the dysfunctional homes of dozens of families on this hit reality show, and as Season 6 drew to a close last night the bespectacled caretaker took a break from teaching to venture down memory lane.

In this 100th episode celebration, Frost revisited three standout families from across the U.S. to see how they were holding up since she left – the Weinstein’s of Ohio (whose truck driver dad was dubbed a “raging bull”); the Newsome’s of Florida (whose divorced mom of six juggled home foreclosure); and the Lewis’ of California (who were left widowed and fatherless thanks to cancer).

And, while all the featured clans come from vastly different backgrounds, they all seem to be doing well today, courtesy of Frost and her universal – and seemingly magical – parenting tips. Thanks to before-and-after clips, viewers (especially those like me who don’t often tune in) were able to see the families’ transformations firsthand and they were pretty incredible to behold. It’s amazing what a little guidance and tough love can do, for both kids and parents alike.

In addition, Frost planned some special, meaningful activities for each brood to enjoy (bonding time at the spa, a group painting session, and a commemorative tree plant), making the hour-long affair all the more heartwarming, instilling hope in other troubled families – and quite possibly, inspiring others to start them.

Supernanny is now on hiatus for the indefinite future. As of press time, the Letter network has yet to announce if it will be renewed for a seventh season.
