Dave and Kortney Wilson finish each other’s sentences. They do it almost constantly during a conference call to promote Cycle 2 of their reality series, Meet the Wilsons.

But it’s OK, because you can’t help but be charmed by the cute-as-a-button, country-singing couple and their two blond-haired, rascally sons. They’re the type of family you wish lived next door to you, because they like to laugh and can provide entertainment if you ever hosted a barbecue.

The newest crop of half-hour episodes, bowing this Sunday on CMT, finds the family – like in the first cycle – putting the finishing touches on the house they’re flipping, and heading into a music studio to record a new album in a two-day whirlwind. Oh, and they just adopted a third child, a little girl named Lennox.

I’m tired just watching them – so why the heck would they want to involve TV cameras?

“You know that song, ‘If I Could Turn Back Time’? No it’s great,” Dave says with a laugh over the phone.

“It’s actually been nice,” Kortney finishes. “It’s been really awesome to look back over the boys’ lives and have that documented. And it does help us (promote our) music, and it’s an opportunity for us to be together as a family, and get paid for it.”

Kortney came up with the idea to have her family’s life in Nashville documented several years ago, but got turned down because reality TV was more risqué, and less family-oriented. So she put the series treatment on the shelf. Then, two kids and several house flips later, she revisited the project, and RGK One Shot Productions bit.

“They thought we had a lot going on and wanted to meet,” Kortney explains. “We said, ‘We can’t meet next week because we’re going to an adoption agency. And that’s when they officially thought we were insane.”

This cycle’s eight episodes comprise several big moments in the Wilson’s lives, including a camping trip that goes awry, a radio gig in Ottawa to promote their album and a memorable trip to Niagara Falls.

“All of the stuff you see really happened,” Kortney says. “The camping trip really happened. We told the production team that we could shoot, but not on the one weekend because we were going camping, and they we like, ‘Are you kidding me?’”

Starring in a TV show does have its drawbacks however, as sons Jet and Sully think it’s natural to be followed by TV cameras all day long. “Jet and Sully think everyone is on TV, and is on their own TV show,” Dave says, and the two share a laugh. Awwwwww.

Meet the Wilsons returns Sunday, March 14 at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT on CMT
