We’ve got a situation here, people — TV is about to get a whole lot dumber. Because slipping anonymous letters about your girlfriend’s DB boyfriend into her “drawww” in front of a camera will never, ever lead back to you, and because having four women in the same house, separated into two rooms so they won’t see another “smush” ain’t dirty as heck, we need even more Jersey Shore.

At least according to Comedy Central we do. The cabler is fully planning on bringing a southern version of Jersey Shore to TV, on top of Lakeshore, an online series that just bowed in Toronto; K-Town, which follows Asian-Americans in L.A.; Persian Version and Wicked Summer, which are also casting in L.A.; and Brighton Beach, which features Russian-Americans.

How much can people stomach? Last night’s episode of the original reality train wreck was simply awful for the reasons listed above, and because of the umpteenth “I’m done” speech that Sammi gave Ronnie, but at the same I cannot stop watching. There were three fights in last night’s episode, and even though I felt like I needed to take a shower once the hour was up, I wanted more.

The preview clip from next week promises a punchout between Jenni and Sammi, which I had to go back and watch in slow motion. Sammi clearly can’t fight, by the way; it looks as though she opens her fist at the last minute. Boo.

Obviously Mike loves this situation (pun totally intended), thanks to what happened between him, Sammi and Ronnie in the first season (quick catch-up: Mike called Sammi, the two made out, then Sammi switched to Ronnie in the same night). And of course next week, Mike’s going to play the guy with the sympathetic shoulder to cry on. How crazy would it be if Sammi actually went for him this time around? I can’t decide if it would happen … I’m going to bank on no, especially since Mike gets tons of women in each episode, now that he’s “famous.”

You just can’t recreate these crazy characters, no matter how many casting calls you put out there. And because this new spinoff is going to be on Comedy Central, you know that they’re going to try and make it bigger and better. 495 Productions produced Jersey, and according to The Hollywood Reporter is behind Party Down South, as well. The publication reports that show is said to be casting a dozen “guys and gals who are keepin’ it country,” who aren’t “Redneck Jersey Shore” calibre, but “funny people with stories to tell.”

If it’s anything like Jersey Shore, I’ll probably laugh at them, not with them.

Jersey Shore airs Thursdays, 10 p.m. ET, MTV.
