Although we still have our favourite prime-time dramas (say, Lost, Grey’s Anatomy or my new favourite, Life Unexpected), these days, we like our TV to be a little more real. Whether we’re rooting for the heroes on the new Survivor, channelling our couch-side critic alongside Simon and the gang on the latest season of American Idol, or just catching up on some much-needed GTL with the cast of Jersey Shore, we always seem to have a new reality show on the go.
And apparently, we’re not the only ones who have realized the potential of the unscripted series. In past decades, many of our favourite TV stars have made the transition between fictionalized and reality-based programming. Some have failed miserably, while others have gone on to make several punny-titled reality-themed hits — but all of them have tried to their best to keep it real.
Former football player and Everybody Hates Chris star, Terry Crews, just kicked off his new show, The Family Crews, so in honour of his big reality TV debut, I present you with some other TV stars who have jumped on the reality bandwagon.
Check out the stars who have turned to reality TV!
The Family Crews premières on Sunday, Feb. 21, 9 p.m. ET, BET.
