Ever feel like your soap operas are playing the same storylines over and over? Well, they are. Don’t get me wrong, we all love the cliffhangers, drama and sensationalism of daytime TV; if we didn’t, soaps wouldn’t have the lengthy history they do.
But years and years of repeated storylines and clichéd plots are getting a little old. Of course, we do have to cut the writers some slack because coming up with enough material to put on a daily show, year round, for so many years on end, is definitely a lot harder than writing for a sitcom or weekly drama. But still, there are some things we see over and over that are so clichéd we just can’t let them slide.
