Help! What happened to Warehouse 13? It's suddenly disappeared and not on the schedule this week or next. There are at least seven episodes left in Season 2; what’s up? Is this the nefarious doings of MacPherson, or H.G. Wells? —Ralf

Amber: Probably both! Citytv confirmed that it’s off the schedule indefinitely, which makes me feel like we have another Royal Pains situation on our hands here.

Amber, can you tell me why Super Channel no longer airs Burn Notice? Will another Canadian network air this series? —Melissa

Amber: I think Super Channel has had a bit of a hard time with this show. My gut tells me that it’s something to do with the fact that SC is in receivership, a fact not helped by the strict CRTC rules. No worries, though, because Showcase is airing the series from its first season this fall. If you’re patient, it should eventually catch up.

Hi Amber, I am loving Haven. In “Ball and Chain,” during the closing credits, they played a song that I fell in love with. The credits indicated it was “Dreams,” performed by Ashley MacIsaac and featuring Spirit of the West. Not only can I not find this song, using this information, but the song sounds nothing like Ashley's music. Either way, could you help me find this song? —Maria

Amber: I think — and hope — you’re talking about “We All Fall Down” by Sweet Talk Radio. It’s available for download on their site now. Let me know!

Hi, Amber, is there any chance The Closer will come to a Canadian station, or that Viva will pick up more than just the first season? —Barbara

Amber: Yes and yes. Super Channel airs the most recent, sixth season, while Viva begins Season 5 on Oct. 25 at 9 p.m. ET.

Hi Amber, when do you think television will struggle to find an original series? I have to say since the advent of the “pretend” reality shows, television generally sucks; even the 24-hour news channels have dumbed things down. —Don

Amber: I feel like Glee was pretty original, no? Or this year’s Modern Family? What about Community or The Good Wife? I’m over reality series, too, but I think TV is resurrecting itself right now, and this is a good thing for everyone. Besides, once you invest in a few specialty stations you’ll definitely change your tune. Just to name a few of the more popular ones, Breaking Bad, Mad Men, Dexter, Californication, Hung and True Blood are all pretty original.

Hello Amber, I am wondering if the Canadian TV series Mysterious Ways starring Adrian Pasdar will be released on DVD. I believe it would be enjoyed by fans who like sci-fi/drama. —Stephen

Amber: What about people who aren’t fans of Adrian Pasdar? Just kidding. Unfortunately, though, there are no current plans release a DVD or to revive the series. Or Pasdar’s career. Sorry, I couldn’t help it.

Hi Amber, I noticed that The Tonight Show with Jay Leno is all repeats these last couple of weeks. Did it end or something? —Zachary

Amber: The show was just taking a summer break. He’s back as of last week with brand-new episodes.

Dear Amber, I have been trying to recall a TV series back in the late ‘60s or ‘70s. It had three people with special powers. The only thing that I remember about the show is the opening credits with a shot of Geneva, Swizterland with the giant water spout in the water. Could you help me out with this program? —Jim

Amber: It sounds to me like you’re describing The Champions, a series that aired in 1968 and starred Stuart Damon, Alexandra Bastedo, William Gaunt and Anthony Nicholls. The premise was that three people crashed into the Himalayas and were taught “special powers,” like hearing, telepathy and healing, by the people who saved them. It lasted for 30 episodes.

Alaina Reed Amini was the best on 227 and I think of her from 227 more than Sesame Street. When will there be an anniversary for 227 on TV? —Tracey

Amber: Well hey there, ‘80s lover. There are no plans for a tribute, but the first season is available to purchase, if that helps. Plus, you can currently catch series star Regina King on Southland — that’s got to be good for something.

Hi Amber, I love City Homicide and was wondering if Super Channel will air a third season? Love your column. —Melinda

Amber: Thanks for the love, but there are no current plans to put Homicide on the fall schedule. I have been assured that SC will revisit that decision in the winter, though.

Hi Amber! I am having a hard time finding the start dates for several shows; maybe you can help me. When is Top Model returning? The Real Housewives of The O.C.? Survivor? Biggest Loser? The Big Bang Theory? Rookie Blue? I hope you can help me organize my social life by telling me when my shows start! —Michelle

Amber: Can do — just check out TV Guide Canada’s annual Fall Preview.

Hi Amber, I’d like to know when the final episodes of Saving Grace will air in Canada? Also, when is the new season of Stargate Universe starting up on Space. —Donna

Amber: Sorry, but not anytime soon. The second part of the third and final season only just wrapped in the U.S., where, the series took almost a year-long break between halves. I wouldn’t be surprised if In Plain Sight surfaced on Showcase next summer.

Stargate Universe returns Friday, Oct. 1 at 10 p.m. ET.

Good Morning Amber, I love your weekly TV information and read it faithfully. I was wondering if Space will be airing Season 2 of True Blood this fall? I really enjoyed Season 1 and would like to see what happens next! —Cyndi

Amber: Even though you said very nice things, you’re way too perky this morning, Cyndi. Share the energy wealth! Anyhoo, Space isn’t airing the second season right now, at least not that it’s announced. You’re better off buying or renting it now that it’s been released. I warn you, though, there is a huge jump in nakedness and blood between the first and second instalments.

Hi Amber , I saw glimpses of the new show called The Defenders starring Jim Belushi, and Jurnee Smollett and Brad Leland from Friday Night Lights were in it. What are they doing? Don't tell me they cancelled Friday Night Lights? It is the most realistic show on TV. No wonder it is so popular. I got hooked watching one episode and have been a fan ever since. —Rango

Amber: I still have the first season sitting by my DVD player, but I still haven’t popped it in. I admit, this summer I’ve found catching up on Fringe and then The Sopranos way more interesting. But enough about me. FNL returns for one final season next year, but then that’s it — no more. Enjoy it while it lasts, my friend.

Hi Amber, do you have any advance glitter on Game of Thrones? I realize it doesn’t start until 2011, but I read that they are going to follow the books a bit closer than other adaptations (like Legend of the Seeker) and stick to one book per year. —Ryan

Amber: You are correct — the plan right now is to have each season showcase one instalment of the book series by George R.R. Martin. I can also tell you that there are 10 episodes, it was filmed in Ireland, the series stars Mark Addy, Sean Bean, Lena Headey, Harry Lloyd, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau and Peter Dinklage, and there is immense buzz surrounding the pilot. Now here’s what HBO co-president Richard Pleper can tell you:

“What it’s really about is power. It’s really about who gets the kingdom, who gets the throne, who gets the goods, and that’s the theme which has resonated throughout history in all great storytelling. You’ll forget where you are very quickly, and you will immediately find yourself immersed in all of the same storytelling that has come to characterize that genre. But it’s really about a quest for power and a quest for the kingdom.”

Hi Amber, earlier this spring I was watching a show where a group of people were “selected” and mysteriously put in a hotel and could not leave. They were being watched through cameras. I missed a couple episodes and have never seen it again. Could you tell me what the name of this show was? Is it going to be back on? —Jo-Ann

Amber: I think you’re referring to Persons Unknown, which aired on NBC Monday nights until the Peacock ruffled its feathers and shifted the series to Saturday nights, where it eventually finaled. Unfortunately since there was no Canadian broadcaster, it isn’t available online — legally.

Hi Amber, I was wondering if the new Angie Harmon show, Rizzoli & Isles, will be on any Canadian stations? It's on TNT now but I either don’t get that one or it’s not Canadian; I'm not sure. —Lynn

Amber: No Canadians get TNT and it’s a shame, because I’d love to see more of its programming. The series does come to Canada Oct. 5, though — if you subscribe to Super Channel. It’s the same station that has The Big C, Memphis Beat and Sons of Anarchy (this winter). If you like those shows it’s definitely worth a subscription.

Hi, Amber, Slice just responded to my query, and Project Runway is not on their fall schedule. They didn’t tell me why. Do you know if some other network (maybe Global) picked it up? It’s very disappointing for fans, and I’d rather not watch it online, if that’s even possible. —Roxanne

Amber: Heck, Roxanne, I told you that one last week. I agree, it is disappointing, but unfortunately the show isn’t airing elsewhere. Although Slice won’t divulge a reason to anyone, I think the series doesn’t resonate with a mass Canadian audience. Instead of airing PR on Saturdays as in the past, Slice now features a reality lineup that includes three Real Housewives franchises, Tori and Dean and a new series called Princess.

That’s all for this week!

A TV junkie, Amber will watch just about anything – once. One of her biggest pet peeves is when networks bounce shows around their schedule, leading to an eventual cancellation. While current gems include The Big Bang Theory, The Office, Dexter, True Blood, House and The Mentalist, she’s still crying over the cancellations of Kitchen Confidential and Pushing Daisies.

Now Amber devotes her time to analyzing the current state of TV and helping readers dissect complicated schedules. She’ll answer a variety of questions about past and present shows, spoilers and casting: anything is — and should be, up for discussion.
